As I was playing with my kids today I realized there are just some things I need to write down. Mostly so I can remember them later, but also to share them with you.
Logan is the happiest little boy! He can melt your heart with his smile and his ‘smiling’ eyes just always lets me know he’s enjoying life. It doesn’t take much to entertain Logan. Most of his day is consisted of wandering around and playing with whatever his little hands can find. He has discovered the tupperware cupboard and he has made an art of scattering them not only all over the kitchen, but in the living room as well. One of his favorite toys is a spoon and if you give him a bowl along with it you’ve just made his day! Logan loves his walker and will push it from the couch to the front door holding the handle, and then once he gets to the door, he’ll walk over to the other side and walk back to the couch, the whole time smiling and laughing. You can always know when Logan is in the room because he’s laughing. He’s just started cracking himself up lately and I’ve watched him and he doesn’t really DO anything to make himself laugh he just does! It’s very adorable. The stairs are no longer an issue because Logan has learned to crawl down them. He’s getting faster and faster but he sometimes still gets confused at which way he’s going and will go back up if he was going down and vice versa. He hates it when we’re all sitting on the couch and he’s not and will fuss until you pick him up and then he’s good to go. He still prefers mommy over daddy and as much as daddy tries to get him to play with him, if mommy is in the room he doesn’t want anything to do with daddy. He’s got ‘pesky little brother’ down to a ‘T’ and is always getting in Lindsay’s things. He loves his new fleece blanket and chews on the tassels just like Lindsay did. We’re hoping that getting rid of his Binky won’t be too hard now that he likes his blanket. He is a sweetheart and big kisses and has learned to wave bye-bye. We love our Bubby Wubble Butt!!!
Lindsay is an incredible 3 year old! She amazes me with everything she soaks up. Lindsay can read! Yes, READ! She got these wood blocks for Christmas with a picture of something and then the word next to it and little block letters you put into the letters. Anyway, one day we were playing with them and I wondered if she’d know the word if I covered up the picture and sure enough she did! She read pig, car, cat, dog, bird, duck and socks. But with the word socks she actually sounded it out one letter at a time and then figured out what it said. And ever since then she has read so many things. She knows a Wendy’s sign when she sees one and will say, Hey! That says Wendy! Anyway, we’re so proud of her! Lindsay has become quite the little songwriter. She dances while singing her made up songs all day long and it’s so fun to hear what she’s singing about. Lindsay loves to goof around and sometimes has a hard time focusing but we enjoy that part of her. She went to her first day of Sunbeams on Sunday and we can’t believe she’s old enough to be in Primary. She wasn’t feeling well so she didn’t seem to really enjoy it and so the teachers ended up bringing her to us early. But as she was crying she was so excited to tell me she went to Sunbeams…so sweet! She loves to pretend to be other people such as Woody and Buzz Lightyear and she’ll remind you if you call her by the wrong name. She still loves her little brother and HAS to give him hugs and kisses before bedtime. We love our Lindsay Lou!

Logan has been sick all day, so it’s been a long, tough day for all of us. I was just putting Lindsay to bed, and we were saying our prayers, and like always, she told me she was going to bless Baby Ben to be strong and healthy. I said, “Okay, and Logan too.” So she said her regular prayer and was about to close, then she remembered, and she said, “And please bless Logan to feel better and sleep good.” I love little things like that that show me that she really does know what it means to say a prayer. She’s so sweet.

Logan thinks that because he’s 10 months old he can now climb. We were upstairs playing one day this past week and Logan just climbed up on the couch like he’s been doing it forever. Luckily, he’s figured out how to climb down now so it’s not so scary. But he hates it if we’re sitting on the couch and he’s not so he just has to be wherever we are, but more specifically, where Lindsay is.

On Wednesday we got about 5 or 6 inches of snow in the morning. Lindsay has gymnastics on Wednesday and so I attempted to drive us out to Orem to get her to her class. I got to the gas station in the Ranches and turned around after sliding up the driveway to the gas station and then almost getting hit on the way out of the gas station. Lindsay was pretty upset about it so to cheer her up we went outside and built some snowmen! Her very first ones. She had a blast! We built two snowman…a mommy and a baby. Here are some cute videos.

In the middle of December, Lindsay had her little gymnastics recital where all the parents and siblings get to go in and watch routines that they have practiced. Since her class is on Wednesday mornings, Jeffy had never seen her and so she was pretty excited that he was there. Our video camera broke and so all we had was our camera and so we couldn’t zoom in any, but you’ll get the idea. There are five videos but they aren’t very long. The first one is of the class walking in and Lindsay is the last one in and she thinks we’re all clapping for her and she just stops and smiles and is so shy. It’s pretty cute. And then it shows her doing her floor routine. Every time we clapped she would just smile and be so cute.
This next one is of her beam routine. She kind of gets distracted and forgets to do some of it, but she did great!
This one is of her bar routine. By this point, all of the little brothers and sisters were getting ancy so it was getting kind of wild.
These last two are of the class getting their little awards. I love The Little Gym! They make the kids feel so good about what they accomplish. And the best part is that Lindsay loves it!!

The other night, we went to Papa Murphy’s and got some “take and bake” pizza. Like everything else, Papa Murphy’s is far, far away from Eagle Mountain, and I made the mistake of not checking the pizzas before I drove home. So I got home to find that where I had asked for the Cowboy (a supreme, lots of toppings pizza), they had given me plain pepperoni. I groaned loudly, and Bethy called from upstairs, “What’s wrong?” I said, “They screwed up the pizza!”
A few minutes later, I saw Lindsay walk into the kitchen with a concerned look on her face, and she asked, “Daddy, did you hurt the pizza with a screwdriver?”

This video is really late being put on here, but I just learned how to do it myself. This video is of Logan getting into the kitty water over Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Madsen’s house. Enjoy!
