We were outside yesterday enjoying the beautiful weather, eating lunch, blowing bubbles and doing hopscotch. I drew the hopscotch thing on the ground and as Lindsay went to start she stopped suddenly, grabbed a piece of chalk and started fixing one of the squares. I asked her what she was doing and she said, “I was just fixing the one square. It was just kind of funky a little bit.” Where in the world did she learn the word ‘funky’? It was probably from me. I didn’t remember saying it all of the time but the more I thought about it the more I realized I do say it quite a bit. It could be worse though. I just laughed and laughed because you sometimes forget what your kids are listening to and picking up! She said it two more times that day. Funny girl.

Last night, Jeffy and I went on a double date with our good friends Spencer and Emily Poulson. We went to dinner at Mimi’s Cafe and then went to Boondocks in Draper for some miniature golfing fun! Jeffy had never been before so we thought it would be a good time to go. It was actually a really cold night for miniature golfing but we all had a blast. There were some amazing holes-in-one by everyone except me but that’s okay, I had some nice shots. Afterwards we came back to our house and watched some of ‘So I Married An Axe Murderer’ which I had never seen before so it was a night of firsts for Jeffy and I. It was a well needed break for the two of us and we all had a great time. We love you Emily and Spencer!
Aren’t they cute?
Just because.
This is where Jeffy’s ball was at one point. I think he ended up getting it in with 3 putts. Not bad.

I just think these pictures are cute. This is Logan with his Uncle Eric. Two VERY silly boys!

Our little Logan LOVES to watch cars drive by. When I take them for a walk and I don’t use the stroller we never get very far because Logan is so easily distracted. Earlier this week on one of these walks he wouldn’t budge until he watched our neighbor back out of her driveway and drive down the street and out of sight. Even then you could tell he was like, “Where’d it go?” So, he likes to look out of our front window and this is what he looks like:
Of course, he’s usually looking OUT the window but he saw me coming with the camera. What a cute boy!

Since it was so stinkin’ cold yesterday I decided to do something fun and different with Lindsay while Logan took his nap. We made egg boats and she loved it! She doesn’t like eggs but the idea of making boats out of eggs sounded pretty neat to her. So while the eggs cooked we cut out the triangles for the sails and then glued them to toothpicks. I have never really done a craft with Lindsay that involved scissors because the whole idea scares me but I decided that she’s old enough to handle it so I traced the triangles on some paper and she cut them out and by golly, she did great!! For the most part she cut on the lines and I was blown away. The girl can do anything! She had a lot of fun choosing which colors to do and cutting the triangles out and then gluing the toothpicks on. Then she helped me make the egg mixture and she DID try some of that and part of an egg white and she still doesn’t like them. Maybe someday. Anyway, there’s quite a few pictures but we had a lot of fun making them. I used to make them with my mom and my sister when I was a kid so it brought back a lot of memories for me as well.

So, here is a conversation between me and Lindsay today, right before I was about to take a shower so that we could go outside and play:
L: “Mommy, can we take the cushions off the couch and stack them so I can jump on them?”
M: “Oh, sweetie, maybe later today because I’m about to take a shower, remember?”
L: “But, I just NEED to jump on them because I’m soooo tired!”
M: “Really? And you think jumping on them will make you less tired?”
L: “Yeah. Can we?”
She’s been using this excuse all the time now and it doesn’t make any sense! Later today she wanted to jump and climb on Jeffy’s back some more and she again said the words, “But I just need to because I’m so tired!” It makes us to giggle. Luckily, she doesn’t stay too worried about things for too long because she was fine once I asked her if she wanted to play some computer games. What did kids do before computers?

Since most everyone in the Snider family was here this weekend Momma Snider wanted to take a picture and while we were getting ready for that Eric, Jeff’s older brother, made a suggestion to re-create some of the pictures they have when they were kids. So, they have a picture of the 4 boys together and so they re-created that one and then one of Jeff and his brother Chris. It was really funny seeing them trying to make the same faces and be in the same positions they were in as a 3 year old and so on. If you’re ever bored, this is a really fun thing to do!

Lindsay’s Grandpa Snider has a friend who has a bunch of animals on his property and the other day he said we could bring the kids to see the animals so we went there today. Logan was tired so he stayed here with Grandma and took a nap so we took Lindsay and Emily and anyone else who wanted to come. Lindsay had a blast! She had no fear at first and just walked right into the horse pen and walked right up to the horse but then when she got closer she backed off a little bit.
Some of the horses had masks on their faces, which looked like a blindfold, but they were actually like sunglasses. Lindsay and Emmy got to ride a horse bareback and they both thought that was pretty neat.
Lindsay has ridden a pony before but not a full grown horse. She looked so grown-up! They also had goats which were adorable and Lindsay had fun petting them. They had a llama who had no understanding of personal space and would practically kiss you if you let him. They also had chickens, a turkey, bunnies, chinchillas, and turtles. It was a lot of fun and it was fun to the see the girls with all the cute animals.

I just wanted to write a little bit about Logan and what he’s like as a one year old. Logan is determined. When he sees something he wants, he’s out to get it, no matter how difficult it may be. He’ll climb over just about anything to get what he wants. Logan has no fear. Watching Logan on Grandma’s swing set has been a very scary thing. He’ll go down the slide however he is at the moment: on his back, on his tushie, on his tummy, or upside down. Logan is funny. He is constantly laughing at himself and we all wished we knew what was so funny. Logan is pesky. He has got the ‘pesky little brother’ act down to an art. He knows just exactly how to push Lindsay’s buttons and does it on purpose. The look on his face while he’s doing it is a mischievous one. Logan is sweet. He loves his blanket and is always hugging it and rubbing it against his face. He has a smile that will melt your heart. Every time you say I love you he’ll immediately blow kisses. Even though he annoys Lindsay he loves her so very much. He smiles real big when he first sees her in the morning and they have so much fun together. Logan is learning. He can say a few words such as ‘mama’, ‘dada’, ‘va-va’ (vroom-vroom), ‘ra-ra’ (ruff ruff). He can sign please and he used to sign more but now he’s cut out the middle man and just says please. He’s starting to sign thank you but doesn’t do it very often. Logan is a keeper.

I’ve been meaning to put this up here for awhile but there’s always something more fun or interesting to write about. I was reading my Parenting magazine a few weeks ago and there was an article in there about the Achoo Syndrome. Have you ever walked outside on a bright, sunny day and started sneezing? Surprise! You have Achoo Syndrome. That’s the ACTUAL name. Someone didn’t have their creative hat on that day when they named this baby. So, if you ever wondered why you sneeze, don’t worry, it’s just a problem you have.
