Today is the 4th of July and it started out with a bang! (Get it? A bang…) We got up early and went to our ward’s first annual 4th of July breakfast. We first played a water balloon game which involved huge slingshots and targets…it was a good time! Jeffy was awesome at the slingshot and got some people good. Our team won. Then Lindsay got to ride her decorated bike in the bike parade and had a good time with that. Then we had a sweet little flag ceremony and then it was time for pancakes. The weather was perfect and so was the morning. After breakfast the firetruck showed up and sprayed the kids with water. Lindsay wasn’t so sure about it at first and just kind of stuck her foot in it. Then she decided to try it again and that’s when the fireman moved the angle of the water and soaked her. There were tears. Thanks to the activity committee for a great morning!
Afterwards we drove up to SLC to spend time with some of Jeffy’s family. His cousin has 3 boys and Lindsay always has a good time with them. They kept each other busy. The afternoon involved Lindsay showing off her incredible reading skills and Logan splitting his bottom lip open. He fell off an eliptical machine and we saw he cut that flap of skin between his gum and lip again but it wasn’t until I was brushing his teeth before bed that I saw he had a huge gash on the inside of his bottom lip. Poor dude!! It didn’t seem to bother him so I hope it’ll heal okay. Other than that, we had some good food and good talk and it’s always fun to be with family. Then we came home and relaxed and watched a movie.
Here’s our attempt at getting a family picture. I think they’re both hilarious so I’m putting them both up here.

The other day Lindsay went with Grandma to Ogden to visit some friends for the afternoon and so Jeffy and I got to spend some time alone with Logan. As a second child this doesn’t happen very often. I enjoy this because I feel like I really get to know him a little bit better. He helped me dust with the vacuum by holding the hose for me. Then after awhile he decided that was a little scary so he stayed on the couch. He is too funny with the vacuums. He likes the big one okay and loves to follow me around with it but the little one, the one I dust with, scares him. I don’t know if it makes a different noise or if it’s louder but he just gets scared. So, I was pleasantly surprised when he wanted to help.
We got the kids some camping chairs with attached umbrellas from Smith’s and they both love them! They look so cute sitting there together. But for whatever reason, Logan likes Lindsay’s pink one more than his blue one, probably just because it’s Lindsay’s. So, while she wasn’t there he took full advantage of that and sat in that pink chair all afternoon. He still loves to talk on the phone and now he’ll even tell himself ‘jokes’ and crack himself up. Out of nowhere in his silly ‘conversations’, he’ll just start laughing. It’s pretty funny.
After that daddy lifted Logan up on his chest and helped him touch the ceiling! Logan wanted to do it over and over again and looked so proud of himself when he could touch it. He wasn’t too happy about it when daddy said they were all done.
We didn’t really do much that afternoon but it was really fun. He’s so sweet and loves to read books (and by read I mean him reading to you) and I love to cuddle up with him. There’s something special about when they can just fit so perfectly in your lap. We love you dude!
