Do I need to say more?

Okay, I’ll explain a little. Logan got dressed first this morning and when Jeff was helping Lindsay get dressed, Logan went into Lindsay’s room, opened the drawer, pulled the skirt out and showed it to daddy. Jeff told him to bring it to mommy. He came in and gave it to me and then lifted up one leg, so I knew he wanted me to put it on. I told him to go put it back but he grunted at me, which usually means no, so I said, Okay, we’ll put it on! He wore it all morning long! Our cute little Scottish man wearing his festive kilt. Too funny.

Three quick cute things our kids did tonight:

1) Logan said his first prayer. Bethy helped him say it, and he said, “Father, thank you, day, I you, amen.” That means, “Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, I love you, amen.” He’s talking more and more every day.

2) Lindsay’s prayer before bed went like this: “Dear Heavenly Father, we’re thankful for this day, we’re thankful for our family, we’re thankful for Jesus and we love him, please bless us to feel better all together, please bless my eye to feel better but it’s already feeling better, we say these things … oh, please bless President Monson that he’ll be the prophet and that he’ll be strong, and we say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.”

3) I just went in to check on the kids before Bethy and I go to sleep, and when I opened Lindsay’s door, she looked at me and blew me a kiss. I went over and asked her if she just woke up, and she said, “Well, I was just thinking because I wanted to read a book but then I wanted to go back to sleep.” And she rolled over, hugged her kitty, and went back to sleep.

I love our kids. We’re lucky to have them.

Dear Lehi Legacy Center,

Why must you make swimming such a complicated thing?

Love, Me

All I wanted to do yesterday was go swimming with my kids and have a good time. I knew that there were new rules regarding diapers and what not so I was prepared to buy the necessary things for Logan, but was not prepared for what the lady told me once I got there. Lindsay needs to wear a swim diaper AND a plastic diaper as well???? Seriously?? (That was my actual response.) Are you kidding me?? She’s 3, almost 4, and totally potty trained, as in, hasn’t had an accident in over a year. She said something about it being the rule, blah, blah, blah, whatever. I went along with what the lady told me and bought the swim diaper and plastic diaper for her only because I knew they wouldn’t let me in if I refused to comply, and it was either buy it or deal with a crying child who wants to go swimming. I went in the changing room and put the swim diaper on her but the plastic diaper didn’t fit her. I could get it on, but her swimming suit would not have fit with it on. So, I tossed it in the bag and said whatever, you’ll be fine. So, I got her water wings all blown up and on her, got Logan’s life vest on him and we were finally ready. We were in the water for about five minutes when a lifeguard blows his whistle at me and tells me she’s not allowed to wear water wings but needs to have a life vest on instead. Seriously? Honestly, what difference does it make? She’s got some sort of flotation device on, so just leave me alone! So, I had to haul the kids out of the pool and walk all the way back to the bathroom and get her a life vest, which she ended up liking but I was just overly annoyed. We did manage to have a good time but there are just some things I wish they’d put on their website so that you’re not bombarded with all sorts of restrictions once you get there. Seriously! So, we won’t be going back until Lindsay is 4 so the poor girl doesn’t have to feel like a baby. Seriously!

Today is our five year anniversary! Five years, wow!! Our wedding seems like forever ago but in a lot of ways I remember a lot of the many details that went on that day. We got sealed in the San Diego Temple at exactly 11:42am and have been very happy ever since! We were both so young, Jeffy was 26 and I was 21. WOW! I’m now the age Jeffy was when we got married and I think it’s safe to say I’m a lot more mature at 26 than Jeffy was. :) We’ve now lived in 3 different homes and have had 3 or 4 different jobs. When we had been married for 5 months I told Jeffy that I really wanted to start a family and have a baby. So, we knelt down and said a prayer to ask Heavenly Father if it was the right time and as soon as we said Amen, we both looked at each other and said, Duh, of course it is! Like he would say no! And then giggled. Ah, newlyweds. So, after being married for 14 months, Lindsay came into our lives and changed our lives for the better. After 2 1/2 wonderful years of just Lindsay, Logan joined our family and has made our life quite the adventure. Jeffy is a wonderful daddy and you can see it in my kids eyes how much they love him.
We have been blessed with a happy marriage, awesome children, and wonderful family and friends.
Jeffy and I truly do ‘complete’ each other and I am so lucky to be married to my best friend. We always have fun no matter what we’re doing and secretly love being competitive with each other. I’m proud of Jeffy for all of his accomplishments and thankful for the supportive husband he is to me. He’s stuck by me even with all my craziness and says he loves me even more than he did the day we got married. Isn’t that sweet? Here’s to another five, Jeffy. I love you!!!

I just love this picture because of the face Jeffy is making. Classic Jeffy face.

My baby can’t possibly be old enough for this, can she? Today was her first day at Kinderstartin’ Preschool and she was so excited. We got her a Princess backpack and for show and tell she took her new Barbie doll that she bought with her own money. On the way there I almost started to cry but when we got there and she went in there and never looked back I knew she would be just fine. Logan on the other hand, cried the whole way home and once we got there he didn’t know what to do with himself. He just kind of walked around as if he were looking for something. He usually likes to go outside so I suggested that and he just sort of went along with the idea and even then I had to hold him most of the time we were out there. He missed Lindsay sooo much! It was so sweet and just reinforced once again how much they love each other. I guess all that pestering he does to her really just means how much he loves having her around. Lindsay had a great time and can’t wait to go again. When I picked her up her teacher, Miss Ari, said that she is the most advanced child in the class and that she could have her in her 4-5 year old class. I’m not sure if she was serious about moving her or if it was just a statement, but we’ll see how it goes. She looks so grown up in this picture!

I keep meaning to get a picture of the kids in the tub because they have so much fun during their bath. They pretend to be fish and swim around and they love to bring the teacups and teapots in the tub, too. Who would have thought? Anyway, here’s a couple:

The other day I watched my good friend’s little girl ,Ashlee, while she went to an appointment and Ashlee’s favorite thing to do at our house is swing on the swing upstairs in the playroom. The three of them have a system when it comes to getting everyone on the swing which usually involves Ashlee sitting with Logan, holding onto him, with Lindsay standing on the back holding on tight. It works out pretty well and they would swing all day if I let them they love it so much. But the other day all three of them sat together and it was just cute so I grabbed my camera and snapped a picture. We love our friends!

This one cracks me up because Logan looks unhappy that he has two beautiful girls next to him. Such a hard life!!

Jeffy and I were able to go out last night with a group of friends for a fun night out. We went down to Provo for dinner at the Olive Garden and then about half of us went bowling at the good ‘ol Miracle Bowl in Orem. Jeffy and I haven’t eaten at the Olive Garden since we started losing weight and it was a challenge because we love everything there! We shared an entree and even had them make it with whole wheat pasta which was delicious! We enjoyed lots of laughter with our friends and love each of them so much! We’re so blessed to have such wonderful friends close by who care so much about us and our kids. The rest of us enjoyed bowling and there were some amazing runs by all of us and it was just a good time! Here is a picture of Jeffy in all his bowling glory. Gotta love those shoes.

Thanks guys for a fun night out!

The other day after the kids had eaten lunch, I was putting the dishes in the sink and I hear Lindsay say, “Logan, here, I’ll read you a book. Come on buddy, get up here on the couch. I’ll help you.” I look up and see this:

I love when my kids are so sweet with each other! It makes me want to cry to see two little people being such wonderful examples to me. We have a FHE book called, ‘Who’s Your Hero?’ and it has three stories about Nephi, Ammon, and Abinadi. After each story it explains how you can be like that certain hero and for Ammon there is a picture of a big sister reading a story to her baby brother and every time Lindsay tells me that she can do that for Logan, so she must have remembered that when she saw Logan trying to read the book by himself. Aren’t my beach babies cute?

After our family reunion in Arizona, we traveled over to California to visit with Jeffy’s family for a few days. All of his siblings were there except one so it was really nice to have everyone together. We did a lot of swimming in their pool in which Lindsay could stand up in so that was so fun! She really enjoyed it and showed us how good she was at going under the water. I now think she’s ready for swimming lessons. Their cousin Emmy came over for a few days and Lindsay had a blast playing with her. The only time I really saw Lindsay was for meals, other than that she was off playing and having a blast. Logan enjoyed trying to keep up with the girls, playing with Uncle Laney and watching Dodger games.

While we were there we got to see his cousin Hollie get sealed in the San Diego Temple. It was a really fun day and Jeffy and I loved being at the temple that we were sealed in. It was a good almost 5 year anniversary date. Isn’t it beautiful?

We also got to see his other cousin bless his new baby girl. The morning before church, Logan had handed me a diaper to change him so I did and then as soon as I did, he went and got another one, so I really had no other choice but to put it on over his clothes. He thought it was hilarious and wouldn’t really let me take it off. So he went to church looking like this:

Too funny. We love you and miss you Snider family!!
