Well, we came to New York to go to last night’s Yankee game. Mother Nature, the unscrupulous swear-word, had other ideas — namely, let’s rain out last night’s game and make Jeff and Beth choose between attending the makeup game tonight or going to see Wicked on Broadway as originally planned. As both activities cost us $200 per ticket, we thought it would essentially boil down to which $400 do we wanted to throw in the trash.

Anyway, as you’ve already read from Bethy, we saw Wicked, and it was wicked awesome. Now we’re sitting in Yankee Stadium, it’s not raining, and the vacation that seemed to have major issues last night is back on track. We had to skip the trip to the Statue of Liberty (shhh, don’t tell Beth’s mom), but other than that, we’ve gotten to do everything we wanted to and more.

Here are some pictures of the Stadium last night and right now.

I’m sitting on the ground outside the Wicked theater watching Jeffy, who is holding a sign that reads “want to trade your 2:00 tickets for my 8:00 tickets?”. The Yankee game got rained out last night and was rescheduled for tonight, an hour before our show at Broadway. We had a huge decision to make, go to the game or go see Wicked. We both really wanted to do both, but overall we decided we would rather go to the game. We can always come back to Broadway, but this was our only chance to see a baseball game at historic Yankee stadium. So, what do we do with our Wicked tickets? We obviously would like our money back but there are no refunds on Broadway tickets. Duh! We’re in New York! Let’s try and sell them outside the theater. No, better yet, let’s try to trade them for the earlier show, then we can do both the game and Wicked!! We’ll see if it works out.

P.S.–We got tickets (not together, but oh well), saw it, and loved it! More details later.
