I just had to write about Logan and all of his bumps and bruises. He’s had a rough couple of days. While Emily was watching the kids over the weekend, she took them up to her mom’s house and while they were there they went and played outside and Logan fell down some cement stairs and bumped and scraped his forehead. So, that’s one. Then about five minutes after picking them up from Emily when we got back, Logan climbed up the slide and fell down the stairs, face first, hitting every one of the steps and then landing on his face. He got up and had a bloody nose, both inside and out. He nose had like little holes that were bleeding. It was kind of weird. I was really nervous that he had broken his nose. That’s two. Then yesterday while we were outside laying the sod, somehow he fell down and scraped his knee but I didn’t notice it until I brought them in to give them a bath and his leg was all bloody. It looked much worse than it was and I was so glad it was just a scrape and not a gash. That’s three. All the while he’s been hitting his head on tables, getting hit by swinging kids, falling off the teeter totter, tripping and falling down and just down right having a hard time! I’m so glad he doesn’t have a doctors appointment anytime soon because I’d be scared they’d take him away from me! Boys will be boys!!
The pictures don’t show just how beat up he looks but I had to try to show you.
Since we were up late laying sod the kids didn’t get to bed until about 8:30, which is late for them, so today ended up being a nap day but I didn’t know that. Logan went to sleep at his usual time around noon and Lindsay and I made some more candy and then snuggled down to watch a movie. I was still tired from New York and couldn’t wait to close my eyes. When I woke up it was 3:00 and Logan was still asleep and Lindsay had curled up on the couch and made herself a little bed with a sheet that was there on the couch and was fast asleep. I’m good at sleeping through movies, as long as I know that the chain is locked and the sliding glass door is bolted shut, but I wake up a few times just because I know Lindsay is still awake. So I had woken up towards the end of the movie and she was still awake so she hadn’t been sleeping for too long when I woke up but Lindsay doesn’t take naps very often and when she does we’re always in for a late night. But I was okay with it because I was so tired. Anyway, isn’t she cute?
We ended up playing outside until like 7:30 and had an interesting/fun evening. The nap was worth it!

We got our grass in our backyard yesterday! Yay!! This has been a moment that we’ve been waiting for for 3 summers now and it’s finally here! We got a good deal and it was a last minute thing so we went for it and we’re so glad we did! Jeff emailed people yesterday morning to see who could come help, on a Monday night mind you, and we had a good turn out. Thanks to Aaron Ball, Flavio and Niki Martins, Emily and Ashlee Poulson, Brandon Fleagle, Cheryl Ivey and sons, Cheryl’s nephew who got us the sod, Paul Tiemann and family, and of course Jeffy who works so hard to even make this a possibility! It didn’t take long to get it done and afterwards we had pizza. It looks great and we can’t wait until we can actually use it. So, our backyard is officially finished!
Lindsay was a great helper!
Lindsay enjoying her pizza afterwards.
Do you think he liked his pizza?
They are too cute for words.
And the finished product!
