I was looking through our pictures tonight and I was blown away by the cuteness of my children. Here is more proof to you that I have some of the cutest kids!! I only say ‘some’ because I know the children of the people who read this blog and boy are they cute, too! But seriously, aren’t they cute??

So, if any of you live close by, you have seen the awesomeness that has been going on at my house. We have lived here for three full winters now and not once have we ever shoveled the snow on our driveways or walks. That’s why we paid the extra $500 to buy a south facing lot so that we wouldn’t necessarily have to. The sun was our shovel. No longer my friends. My most wonderful brother-in-law Lane has come to the rescue. Not only was he excited about doing it, he did it without a coat on! The kids and I had a great time watching him from inside where it was nice and warm.

I can’t and shouldn’t offer him to any of you but I’m sure if you asked him, he would be more than happy to shovel your walks as well. Right Laney? :)

How did my little girl get to be old enough to be in CTR-5? I don’t know either but she is and here she is on her first Sunday of CTR-5. Logan is in his jammies because this was week 5 I think of both of us not going to church because he was sick. Poor dude.

Logan was turned around because the last time we took a picture in their jammies, I had them turn around so we could see their cute tushies with the Rudolph’s on the butts. Silly boy and Lindsay was so nice to play along. So, here’s another one!

The kids got some really fun things for Christmas and two of their favorite ones were the truck that G-ma and G-pa Madsen gave Logan and the Princess Makeup that Santa gave Lindsay. For his nap on Christmas nap, Logan begged me to let him sleep with his new truck and he was so cute saying please (ask Laney, he’ll tell you!). Lindsay and I give each other make-overs a couple of times a week and it’s a lot of fun (and I’m really happy that it all washes off with soap and water). Santa is such a smart man!

So, for the past little while I’ve been feeling pretty guilty about the fact that we don’t recycle. I do take our newspapers to the recycling bin, but I don’t do anything with plastic or metal besides throwing it in the trash. The reasons why I don’t do this, even though there is no excuse, is because my city doesn’t offer any sort of recycling service (SERIOUSLY) and I didn’t know where I would take it even if I did recycle those things. Well, after watching WALL-E about 20 times since Christmas I’ve realized that it’s time I need to be responsible and take this opportunity to teach my children these important things. I know a lot of people didn’t like WALL-E because of the whole people-trash-the-Earth-and-are-extremely-fat part of it, but who’s to say that that won’t EVER happen? And seriously, why should taking care of the Earth be a political thing? Isn’t it common sense, especially to us members of the church, to WANT to take care of the Earth that our Heavenly Father gave to us? Anyway, so the other day I went to the store and bought 3 bins and went home and labeled them each according to what their contents would be. The first day we started this, I was amazed at how much stuff was recyclable and how much less trash we had. The kids have fallen in love with it and constantly ask if there is anything else to put in the bins and because of that I love it too!!

I have looked online and have found some places to take the plastic and metal so now I’m all set. Go me! I hope you don’t think I’m getting all preachy on you because I don’t mean to be, but if you were like me and have wanted to and just didn’t know where to go, I would be more than happy to take your bins with me when I go to the places myself. Thanks for enduring this less than fun post! Earth rocks!
