My friend Katie had probably THE CUTEST birthday party ever on Saturday. Her little girl Emily had a Tinkerbell party and Katie, the wonderful mom that she is, made tutus and wings for every single girl. She called a couple weeks in advance and asked me who Lindsay’s favorite fairy was and she had said Silvermist so she made her a blue tutu and wings. On her front door, she had a sign that said Welcome to Pixie Hollow and when Lindsay walked through the door, Emily was there to put pixie dust on her head so that she could fly! It was just gold glitter but so cute! On the wall she had made a huge tree and there were flowers all over the walls and little sections to represent each fairy. It was amazing! Each girl got a little wand and Lindsay had such a fun time! We have played Tinkerbell everyday since and it’s been a lot of fun! Here she is in her cute tutu and wings. Thanks Katie for having such a creative mind and working so hard on everything! You rock!

Jeff and I have just been cutting Logan’s hair at home with the clippers, but after I butchered his hair the last time, I decided to let a professional do it. So we took him to Great Clips on Saturday and he got his first REAL haircut. When we got there a boy that was about 4 or 5 years old, throwing a fit and being difficult because he didn’t want to sit in the chair and I thought, Oh dear, please let Logan do better! The kid was a champ! He sat there so well and at one point asked daddy to hold his hand. It was so cute! He looked like he was being forced to do something he didn’t want to be doing the whole time but at least he sat still! What a handsome dude!
The lady was trying to get Logan to feel the clippers so he could see how they tickle but he didn’t want anything to do with it.
Turns out he didn’t really like the clippers but he didn’t try to squirm out of the chair!
Here they are holding hands! Such a sweetheart.

When I heard that the Open House for the Draper Temple was going on, I was super excited to take the kids. Jeffy unfortunately couldn’t go with us that day because he had a fun filled day of meetings at work. Lane had wanted to go so he came with us and I am so grateful because it would have been harder inside the temple without him.
The kids both slept the whole 40 minute drive up there and when we got to the church we were assigned to, the kids watched the little 12 minute video with no problems. Lindsay genuinely enjoyed it and asked a lot of questions and I was really excited that she was interested. Then they put us on a bus (which Logan was beyond himself when he saw it) and drove us up to the temple where we went on the tour. The temple is beautiful, both inside and out, and it was a really neat experience to be there with my kids. Lindsay really enjoyed the baptismal font because just a couple days before that, I went to the temple with several sisters from my ward and did baptisms for the dead and before I left, I had tried to explain to her what I was going to be doing. So, when she saw it she asked me, ‘Mommy is that what you did?’ Lane and I explained a lot of things to her and it was fun to see her taking it all in. Logan did really, really well considering I was so nervous that he would just throw a fit right there in a very special room! As we were walking out of one of the rooms, the picture of Christ with torn robe and the gash in his side was on the wall and I said, ‘Look Logan, Jesus has an ouchie.’ He got a very concerned look on his face and then said, ‘Jesus jammies!’ I thought it was cute that he thought Jesus had his jammies on. It was a fun day and I’m really glad that we went and took the kids. I plan on taking them again to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. Here are some pictures. I had meant to get a picture of us in front of the temple, but I just couldn’t figure out how to get out of the white tents! ![]()

Do any of you look at a picture you’ve taken of your kids and say, “Yep, this is one we can use to embarrass them when they’re older!”? When Lindsay and Logan go on their first dates, we’re gonna pull this beauty out:
It’ll be fun. Well, at least for some of us! You can come if you want.
