We went to my brother and his wife’s house on Sunday and enjoyed a fun afternoon. They have a 6 month old kitten named Loki, who the kids just loved! They played with him the entire three hours we were there and couldn’t get enough of him. Logan didn’t eat dinner because he was having too much fun.
Lindsay loved pulling the string around and watching Loki chase it.
Logan kept trying to get inside Loki’s tent. Too funny!
After dinner and after the newness of the cat wore off, they settled down and watched 101 Dalmations with Uncle Spencer. Logan cuddled up right next to him and they really had a good time with him. He may not realize it, but they like him a lot! Thanks for a fun time guys!

I wanted Jeffy to surprise Lindsay with some flowers yesterday for Valentine’s Day. My dad gave me flowers every once in awhile growing up and it was so super special so I wanted to carry on that tradition. He didn’t get them until Saturday night because we were already out all day, so she was wonderfully surprised Sunday morning when she saw them. She has helped Jeffy pick out flowers for me before and just loves them so I knew she’d love it. She kept looking at them like, I can’t believe these are for me! So sweet.

Jeffy and I had a really fun Valentine’s Day this year. We normally don’t do anything for Valentine’s Day because it’s my least favorite holiday. I hate that the government had to set aside a certain day for people to say, “Hey, I care and I love you.” That’s what everyday of the year is for! When Jeffy and I were engaged I told him I didn’t want flowers for my birthday or for Valentine’s Day or for our anniversary. A lot of women expect that for those days (and that’s just fine) but I want him to give me flowers because he WANTS to, not because he’s EXPECTED to. I want flowers because it’s Monday. So, he was so cute and got me flowers on a Monday and the card said, ‘Just because it’s Monday.’ I’m so lucky!
ANYWAY, quite the little detour there, we did make a big deal out of it this year and spent a night at the Grand America hotel in SLC. It is a beautiful hotel with big rooms and a comfy bed. I’m always so nervous about the beds and whether or not they are going to be comfy but this one was a winner! Here are some pictures of the room:
A picture from the door.
The door and little entryway.
A sitting area.
Looking into the room from the sitting area.
The hallway. Yeah, our room had a hallway. Crazy!
The pretty bathroom.
Our view. HAHA. Isn’t Salt Lake ugly? At least from this view it was…
We got there about 4ish and relaxed until our couples massage at 5pm, which was much needed. I am always really tight around my neck and shoulders and it felt wonderful to get that worked on. After that we headed down to the hotel restaurant and had a nice, although very expensive, dinner where we talked about us and our kids and our wonderful life in general. After that we walked around the hotel, both inside and out, and realized we were cold and tired. But we did manage to get these two pictures of our wonderful stay.
We then enjoyed watching tv and reading our books and went to bed. We slept in and it was wonderful! Thanks so much to Emily, Spencer and Ashlee for watching our kids for us! You guys are the best!
