Logan is potty trained! And has been for a couple of weeks now but I’m just now getting around to posting about it!
We had tried the potty training thing a couple of months ago, before our cruise, but it didn’t last very long and after that we just let it go for awhile. Then a week before Thanksgiving, we were hanging around watching TV and he comes up to me and says, very matter of factly, “Mommy, I’m going to go pee pee and poopy in the potty.”
And by golly, he meant it!
He’s a man of his word and has been potty trained ever since. When we started the last time, I took him to Walmart and let him pick out his own potty training prize and he of course picked out a cool backhoe tractor. I stuck it on the fridge and told him when he’s wearing big boys he can play with it. He asked me EVERY DAY if he could play with it and I would always ask him if he was wearing big boys and if he wasn’t, the answer was no. I guess it finally sunk in and he really wanted to play with it so he decided that he was ready.
We made a big boy chart for him with 7 days on it and when he stayed dry for 7 days he could have his backhoe tractor. Every day he was dry, he got to put the sticker on and then we would count how many days he had left and man oh man, he was excited!
I’m so proud of him! Look how happy he is!
After all of that, just to reinforce the idea even more, he gave all of his leftover diapers to baby Trevor because he’s a big boy now. Yay Logan! We love you!
And here is my new favorite picture to tease him with when he’s older.
